Acts of Violence, Mars, and Saturn

Chakrapani Ullal - Thursday, June 16, 2016

Clients have been asking about the recent shooting in Florida and the potential for continuing violence. My response is that unfortunately, this is another expression of the current Mars/Saturn planetary set-up that I have been referring to in recent blogs. I wish I could say it is over and done but that is not the case. This is a general period of heightened caution for everyone. Retrograde, conjunct Mars/Saturn brings challenges of this type, including acts of violence and revolution, accidents, and the potential for natural disasters.

This condition may continue with sometimes greater strength, sometimes less, until the beginning of September 2016.

At this point Mars is becoming intensely more negative because it will cease its retrogression, becoming direct on June 30. The period immediately before and after (approximately 10 days on either side) are considered tremendously negative.

As we have seen, between the 11th and 12th of June, the gunning down of innocent people in the Orlando nightclub resulting in death and injury to over 100 people is the largest scale of brutal violence in recent US history. Mars is the planet of bloodshed, especially when associated with another malefic - in this case, Saturn.

During times of challenge we need to be alert and cautious, but go about our business as usual - simply taking greater care. That is all we can do. We avoid hazardous situations and we postpone confrontations with others as much as possible because the potential for conflict and disagreements is exaggerated during this period.

To the families of victims, we offer our condolences and seek to support them in any way we can.

For more information regarding the Mars/Saturn period see my previous blog posts: “Politics, Mars, and Saturn” and “Mars Staturn Transits 2016”.
